Interstate 229 repairs planned for Saturday near Route K

St. Joseph, Mo. – Contractors working on Interstate 229 plan to complete pavement repairs near Route K (Exit 11) tomorrow, Saturday, April 24. Motorists will encounter single-lane traffic in both directions at Route K during daylight hours The work is part of a resurfacing project being led by Herzog Contracting Corp., of St. Joseph, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation. The project extends from the U.S. Route 71 intersection in Andrew County to Route 371 (22nd Street) in Buchanan County.

A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project, which is expected to continue through September. Some lane closures may remain in place overnight.

Motorist are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions. Crews will be working close to traffic. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Show-Me Zero.
