MoDOT: Greene County Route BB & Route O Scheduled for Resurfacing

Beginning the Week of April 26

Greene County – Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on Greene County Route BB and Route O for a resurfacing project beginning the week of April 26, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will work during daytime hours to resurface Greene County Route BB between Missouri Route 123 in Walnut Grove and Missouri Route 13 north of Springfield. When Route BB is complete, they will resurface Greene County Route O between Jackson Street in Willard and Missouri Route 13 north of Springfield.

Route BB and Route O will receive a new asphalt driving surface, the highway will receive edge line rumble strips and new guardrail in areas.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
  • Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot car before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
  • Work will be done during daytime hours, all lanes open to traffic at night
  • Greene County Route BB Bridge Closure over Asher Creek (notification of bridge closure will be issued when date is determined)
  • Frisco Highline Trail Closure (notification of trail closure will be issued when date is determined)
  • No signed detour
  • Drivers should find alternate routes
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

APAC Central Inc., Springfield is doing the work for a low bid amount of $1 million.

The project is to be completed by early November 2021.
