Traffic Alert: Nightly lane closures continues for portions of U.S. 50 for pavement work this week

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will be making pavement improvements along eastbound and westbound U.S. 50 between approximately Todd George Rd. to just north of Bannister/NW Colbern Rd. beginning on Sunday, April 11 until approximately July 2021. This week’s work includes the following closures:

  • Crews will close the ramp from westbound U.S. 50 to northbound MO Route 291/Hamblen Rd. beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close the ramp from northbound MO Route 291/Hamblen Rd. to westbound U.S. 50 beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close the westbound U.S. 50 ramp to southbound MO Route 291/Jefferson St. beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will close the ramp from southbound MO Route 291/Jefferson St. to westbound U.S. 50 beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 23, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning.

All work is weather permitting.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
