Montgomery County Route P Bridge Replacement Set to Begin

MACON – Weather permitting, Tuesday, May 4, crews will close Montgomery County Route P at Dry Fork Creek, located 0.7 mile south of Montgomery County Route K near Americus, for bridge replacement. E & C Bridge, LLC, of Jamestown, Missouri, was awarded the project in the amount of $638,177. The contractor has 85 days to complete this project.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

“This bridge has had significant deterioration over the years, so it is time to replace it,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “The new bridge will be 24 feet wide, that is four feet wider than the existing bridge,” he added.

Crews will begin setting signs for the project to notify motorists of the closure.
