MACON – Weather permitting, Monday, May 3, crews will close Missouri Route 149 at Shuteye Creek, located three miles south of Adair County Route D near Connelsville, for bridge replacement. Widel, Inc., of Blackwater, Missouri, was awarded the project. They have 90 days to complete this project.
“This bridge is currently striped as one lane,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Amy Crawford. “Once completed, Shuteye Creek will be 24 feet wide and have two-foot shoulders, while allowing two-lane traffic to cross,” she added.
This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Crews will begin setting signs for the project to notify motorists of the upcoming closure.
