UPDATE: Holt County Route B closure moved to Monday as part of bridge deck replacement project

St. Joseph, Mo. – The planned closure for the bridge on Holt County Route B over Interstate 29 is postponed to Monday, April 19, for a bridge deck replacement project. Crews from Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, have pushed back closing the bridge due to tomorrow’s predicted weather. The roadway is expected to remain closed through July 2021. This project is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

During the closure, motorists will be directed over a signed detour on U.S. Route 59 and Route 120.

Throughout the project, one lane of I-29, near mile marker 72, may be closed in each direction with a 12-foot width restriction. Delays should be expected in this area.

All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorist are urged to slow down, eliminate distractions, pay attention to all roadway signing and to never drive around barricades.
