Deck Pour to Temporarily Close U.S. Route 61 Northbound at Warren Barrett Drive in Hannibal

HANNIBAL – A temporary closure of northbound U.S. Route 61 in Hannibal is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, at 11:00 p.m. extending into the early morning hours of Thursday, April 15 until 4:00 a.m. so crews can pour the deck on the passing lane of the bridge over BNSF Railroad.  “ With this milestone accomplished, once the final items of work in the passing lane are completed, preparations to shift traffic will begin in order for work to start on the driving lane, ” explained Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Untiedt.    The road will be closed between Warren Barrett Drive and Market Street.

While there will be no signed detour, traffic will be routed to Warren Barrett Drive to Missouri Route 79 and back onto to U.S. Route 36.  Message boards and signage will be placed at various locations to assist motorists.

Motorists will need to use caution while traveling through the area during these times.  Remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel, and put down your cell phone to help eliminate distractions.
