St. Joseph, Mo. – Local crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route F and narrow Routes 85 and A next week for seal coating.
- Route F will close Thursday, April 15, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Only local traffic will be permitted.
- Route 85 and Route A will be narrowed to one lane on Friday, April 16, and Monday, April 19. Flaggers and a pilot car will guide motorists through the work zone. Drivers will experience delays, both directions, as they must wait for the pilot car. Drivers entering from a side road onto the route being sealed must also wait for a pilot car.
A seal coat is a preventative maintenance treatment which may prolong the life of a roadway by sealing and protecting the base and providing strength at the road surface. MoDOT does its best to be good stewards of the monies provided by taxpayers. One of the ways is to employ many preventative maintenance methods, such as this.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Show Me Zero. Motorist are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
