Sections of Route 131 will be closed from Route U to Route HH beginning April 8

LAFAYETTE COUNTY –Route 131 will be closed to traffic from Route U to Route HH, beginning April 8 while crews widen the highway’s shoulder.

This will be the second of three closures on Route 131 to complete the grading and shoulder widening. There will be a signed detour on Route OO and Route HH.

The third closure on Route 131 will be from Route HH to Route 50, with a signed detour on Route HH, Route Z and Route 50. That closure is tentatively scheduled for late April.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
