Livingston County Route C closure extended

Emergency bridge repairs and weather will keep the Shoal Creek Bridge closed through tomorrow

St. Joseph, Mo.  – A section of Livingston County Route C, closed for emergency repairs to the Shoal Creek Bridge, northwest of Dawn, will remain closed through tomorrow, April 8. On Tuesday, April 6, local maintenance crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation discovered an issue on the bridge’s driving surface that prompted the immediate closure of the bridge. Due to weather, today’s planned placement of a steel plate will be delayed. Crews will complete repairs tomorrow and plan to reopen the roadway tomorrow afternoon, April 8. During the closure and repair, motorists will need to use an alternate route.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades.
