St. Joseph, Mo – Two Nodaway County routes are scheduled to close beginning this week for crest corrections as part of the Clear Creek wind farm project crest corrections. Mortensen, the contractor working with Tenaska Clear Creek Energy Center, will be reconstructing the hilltops with gravel on Nodaway County Routes B and JJ which had been leveled down prior to the wind farm construction.
Starting Thursday, April 8, crews will close Route B from the south Route FF intersection to the north Route FF intersection daily through Saturday, April 10. Crews will then move to Route JJ on Monday, April 12, closing the roadway daily from U.S. Route 71 to Route FF for approximately two weeks.
Each daily closure will begin at sunup and end at sundown. No work is currently scheduled on Sundays, but may be used as a make-up day. Following the corrections, the contractor will return to do a final resurfacing of the affected sections of roadway. An exact date for the resurfacing has not yet been determined.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention to all roadway signing and to never drive around barricades.
