Oversized Vehicle Travel Rescheduled for Next Week in Callaway and Montgomery Counties

CALLAWAY/MONTGOMERY COUNTIES – Oxbo Transport will now be moving a large part for Ameren Electric that will require an oversized vehicle to travel through Callaway and Montgomery Counties next week. This move was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 25. This traveling oversized vehicle will impact traffic on several roads.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 1, the oversized vehicle will begin traveling southbound on Callaway County Route CC, south of Route O, and will then make its way to eastbound Route 94. It will then turn onto northbound Route 19 in Montgomery County and will complete its journey on southbound Route 161 near the railroad in Montgomery City.

Missouri Highway Patrol will be escorting the oversized load. Due to the slow speeds on narrow roadways, motorists could experience delays of up to one hour in certain sections of the vehicle’s route. The load is scheduled to arrive at its destination by 6 p.m.

Message boards will be in place to warn motorists in advance of the potential traffic impacts. Drivers are encouraged to plan extra travel time, expect long intermittent delays or use alternate routes.

The work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
