Sections of Route 131 will be closed from Route OO to Route 50 beginning Feb. 15

JOHNSON COUNTY – Sections of Route 131 will be closed to traffic from Route OO to Route 50 beginning February 15 through August 31 for shoulder improvements.

This project will include adding shoulders and resurfacing, which includes grading and drainage construction. Most work will be completed with single-lane closures, however, sections of Route 131 from Route OO to Route 50 will be closed at various times. MoDOT will provide advanced notice before these closures occur and a signed detour will be in place during closures.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
