Improvements Approved for Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY - Rehabilitation of the U.S. Route 54/63 bridges over the Missouri River in Jefferson City has been approved by the Highways and Transportation Commission.

During its meeting on Wednesday, commissioners awarded the project to KCI Construction, which submitted the low bid of $4,125,000.

The project consists of the rehabilitation of both bridges, and a new surface overlay of the eastbound/northbound bridge. Most of the work will take place at night, with minimal daytime work as needed. Lane closures will be requiredduring work hours.

This project is scheduled to begin in the spring and is expected to be complete by December. Prior to work starting, MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media.
