Interstate 70 Pavement Repairs Continue in Callaway County

CALLAWAY COUNTY – A pavement repair project taking place in several mid-Missouri counties will now impact evening and overnight traffic along Interstate 70 in Callaway County this coming week.

A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation is expected to begin making repairs on eastbound I-70 lanes in Callaway County on Monday, December 21 through Wednesday, December 23. Work will begin near the Route DD intersection. Once work is finished at that location, crews plan to address eastbound lanes near the town of Williamsburg.

This work will require individual lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Signs will guide motorists through work zones. Drivers are advised to use extra caution through work zones, watch for workers on the road, obey all traffic signs and avoid any distractions.

The improvements are part of an effort to improve the driving surface of I-70 in Cooper, Boone and Callaway Counties. This work will complete the final phase of the project.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
