Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled for Portions of I-70 TONIGHT, Dec. 3

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will have various lane and ramp closures along portions of both east and westbound I-70 TONIGHT, Thursday, Dec. 3, from approximately 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. The following lanes and ramps will be closed at various times throughout the evening but will not happen not simultaneously:

  • The left lane of both eastbound and westbound I-70 at 18th St. will be closed for signage work.
  • There will be a double lane closure along eastbound I-70 at I-470/Route 291. Additionally, the ramps from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-470/Route 291 and the on ramp to northbound I-470 /Route 291 from eastbound I-70 will be closed for signage work.
  • There will be a double lane closure along eastbound I-70 just east of I-470/Route 291 for signage work.
  • There will be a lane closure along eastbound I-70 just west of MO Route 7 for signage work.

Expect delays in the area. All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
