Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled for Portion of I-70 TONIGHT, Dec. 2

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will have various lane closures along portions of both east and westbound I-70 at the Paseo Blvd., Prospect Ave., Benton Blvd., and Truman Rd. The lane closures will not all happen simultaneously but will occur TONIGHT, Tuesday, Dec. 2, from approximately 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. The following lanes and ramps will be closed at various times:

  • The left lane of both eastbound and westbound I-70 at the Paseo will be closed for signage work.
  • The right two lanes of eastbound I-70 as well as the ramp from eastbound I-70 to Prospect Ave. will be closed for signage work.
  • The left lane of eastbound and westbound I-70 between Prospect Ave. and Benton Blvd. will be closed for signage work.
  • The right most lane and the ramp of eastbound I-70 to Benton Blvd. and Truman Rd. will be closed for signage work.

Expect delays in the area. All work is weather permitting. 

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
