Final Callaway County Route D Bridge Work to Impact I-70 Traffic

CALLAWAY COUNTY – While the new Callaway County Route D bridge over Interstate 70 is now open to traffic, crews will be finishing up guardrail work this week that will cause lane closures on the interstate.

A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation is expected to complete the installation of guardrails along the median of I-70 at the Route D bridge beginning Wednesday. There will be westbound and eastbound lane closures on I-70 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from November 18 to November 20.

There will be signs in place to alert motorists of the lane closures. Drivers are asked to plan extra travel time, slow down, watch for crews and pay attention in work zones.

This bridge was included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
