St. Joseph, Mo. – Signal work as part of the resurfacing project on U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) will disrupt traffic at some intersections. Contractor crews have completed work on the Belt Highway signals at Cook Road and south Belt Walmart/Tractor Supply Company, and expect to finish work on the following signals on Monday, Nov. 16, and Tuesday, Nov. 17:
- Westbound signals at Pear Street
- North and southbound signals at south U.S. Route 169 (Exit 44)
- Leonard Road
The work is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will continue through 7 a.m. each night. Single-lane closures and turning restrictions may be in place at each intersection while work is ongoing. It may also be necessary to turn off the power at the intersections for brief periods of time. During signal power outages, drivers should treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
Striping operations are scheduled to begin tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 14 on the Belt Highway and Fredrick Avenue. No work will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15, but crews will resume striping and pavement marking operations on Monday, Nov. 16 and expect to be completed on Saturday, Nov. 21.
