CLAY/JACKSON COUNTIES – The Missouri Department of Transportation has extended the work schedule as part of the MO Route 269/Chouteau River Bridge improvement project. The extension is due in part to the delay of materials being shipped, which is a direct result of Covid-19.
The project is now scheduled to be completed on Friday, Dec. 4. Originally, the project was expected to be completed on Saturday, Nov. 14. Crews have been working to install four-inch steel conduits to the existing structure.
Crews will continue to close the northbound right thru lane from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily, Monday through Saturday, until the completion of the project.
The east bicycle and pedestrian lane will remain closed (24/7) until the completion of the project. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
