St. Joseph, Mo. – Signal work as part of the resurfacing project on U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) will disrupt traffic at some intersections. Contractor crews plan to begin tonight, Monday, Nov. 9, and will work on the signals along the Belt Highway at Cook Road, south Belt Walmart/Tractor Supply Company, Pear Street, the south I-29 interchange at Exit 44 and Leonard Road.
The work is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will continue through 7 a.m. each night this week until all signal work is complete. Single-lane closures and turning restrictions may be in place at each intersection while work is ongoing. It may also be necessary to turn off the power at the intersections for brief periods of time. During signal power outages, drivers should treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
With rain in the forecast, work may be postponed. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
