Progress Continues on New Lake of the Ozarks Interchange

LAKE OZARK – Construction of the new interchange that will help traffic navigate the intersection of U.S. Route 54, Route W, Business 54, and Osage Hills Road continues to move forward, with motorists now utilizing some of the new roadway features.

All westbound traffic on U.S. Route 54 is now traveling on the final roadway and will no longer be using the temporary bypass. A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin removing the bypass median crossovers on Monday, November 8. In order for crews to safely perform the work, westbound Route 54 will have daily lane closures near the interchange for up to a week.

Another element of this project was the installation of several roundabouts around the new interchange. One of those roundabouts, at Business 54 and Wilmore Lane, is now open to travelers.

Crews continue to work in the area. Speed limits on Route 54 are reduced through the work zone for the safety of travelers and workers on the road. Motorists in the area are asked to plan for delays, slow down, avoid distractions and watch for crews in work zones.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
