Bridge Improvements Along Route 54 Planned in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Department of Transportation crews will conduct a pair of bridge maintenance projects which will require lane closures in two areas of Jefferson City.

Starting on the night of Sunday, November 1, crews will begin making improvements to the driving surface of the westbound U.S. Route 54 bridge over U.S. Route 50 and the Ellis Boulevard bridge over Route 54. Work will take place in between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. One lane will be closed at a time in each work area.

MoDOT says work at both locations is scheduled to be completed by Friday, November 6.

Motorists are advised to prepare for possible traffic delays while the work is taking place. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers and encourages all drivers to slow down, watch for workers and avoid distractions in work zones.

The work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
