Guardrail Installation to Impact Columbia Traffic Next Week

COLUMBIA – Crews will complete the final phase of a project in Columbia designed to improve the driving surface of outer roads along Interstate 70.

A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will finish installing guardrail on I-70 Drive Southeast at the Hominy Creek Bridge, located about two miles west of Route Z/Exit 133, beginning Monday, November 2. This work is expected to take one week to complete.

This guardrail installation work will require lane closures throughout the week. Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone. Drivers are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs and avoid any distractions.

This work is part of a larger pavement improvement project that repaired several Interstate 70 Outer Roads in Boone and Callaway Counties.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
