Saturday, October 31, For Paving Operation

What: South Street CLOSED between U.S. Route 160 and West Street in Nixa

When: 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, October 31

Details: Contractor crews paving South Street

Traffic Impacts:

  • South Street CLOSED only where crews are set up working
  • Drivers will be able to get to driveways and entrances on either side of the work zone, but will not be able to travel through the work zone
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Project Summary:

  • Widen southbound Route 160 by extending a second southbound lane through the intersection of South Street
  • Add right-turn lanes at each corner of the intersection
  • Add a sidewalk on the south side of South Street between West Street and Route 160
  • Replace traffic signals with new signals to accommodate the new lane
  • Completion Date: Early November 2020
  • Prime Contractor: D & E Plumbing of Nixa
  • Total Project Cost: $1.45 million (MoDOT and the city of Nixa are sharing the cost of the project)
