What: U.S. Route 160 northbound traffic will be shifted to the center turn lane south of Missouri 14 between South Street and Citydel Road/Sunrise Drive in Nixa
When: Rescheduled due to weather to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 29 until 7 a.m. Friday, October 30
Details: Contractor crews removing guardrail near the road. Installation of new guardrail will be announced in advance of the traffic impacts.
Traffic Impacts:
- Route 160 northbound traffic will be shifted to the center turn lane between South Street and Citydel Road/Sunrise Drive in Nixa
- Crews and equipment close to traffic
- Drivers urged to find alternate routes
- Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Project Summary:
- Widen southbound Route 160 by extending a second southbound lane through the intersection of South Street
- Add right-turn lanes at each corner of the intersection
- Add a sidewalk on the south side of South Street between West Street and Route 160
- Replace traffic signals with new signals to accommodate the new lane
- Completion Date: Early November 2020
- Prime Contractor: D & E Plumbing of Nixa
- Total Project Cost: $1.45 million (MoDOT and the city of Nixa are sharing the cost of the project)
