MoDOT Accepting Public Comments Regarding Plans to Replace Multiple Bridges along I-29

PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an online public information meeting to allow citizens to ask questions or leave comments regarding the upcoming I-29 multiple bridge replacement project in Platte County.

The comment period will begin Monday, Oct. 26, and will continue through Monday, Nov. 9. The public is encouraged to review the project plans, the project timeline and provide feedback.

The goal of the project is to replace the I-29 and 56th St. Bridge and the I-29 and N. Waukomis Drive Bridge. Both bridges are well over 50 years old and have exceeded their projected lifespan. The new structures will provide a more reliable surface for traffic, new sidewalks for pedestrians, as well as other safety measures.

This multiple bridge project is slated to begin in the spring of 2021 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2023.
