TRAFFIC ALERT: Nighttime lane reductions, delays on eastbound I-44 at Exit 8 in Joplin

RESCHEDULED to Oct. 21 & 22

What: Eastbound I-44 traffic reduced to one eastbound lane at either end of bridge over Range Line Road (Loop 49) at Exit 8 in Joplin for pavement repair

When: 9 p.m.-6 a.m., Wednesday & Thursday, October 21 & 22

Traffic Impacts:

  • I-44 reduced to one eastbound lane at either end of bridge over Range Line Road (Loop 49) at Exit 8
  • All ramps at Exit 8 will remain OPEN
  • All lanes OPEN to traffic during daytime hours
  • Speed limit reduced to 60 mph through work zone
  • No signed detour
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Drivers should look for alternate route

Details: The work was originally scheduled for Tuesday & Wednesday, October 20 & 21. However, rain caused contractor crews to delay the project by one day.
