TRAFFIC ALERT: Route A Bridge, Pemiscot County Posted 29 Ton Weight Limit Due to Deterioration

What: Recent bridge inspections showed deterioration, requiring MoDOT to restrict heavy loads on the Route A bridge in Pemiscot County. This bridge is located between Route 412 and County Road 286. It is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

When: Beginning Nov. 21, 2020 weight limit signs will be installed. 

Where: Route A Bridge over Drainage Ditch #72 in Pemiscot County, Missouri.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Weight limits on the bridge will be reduced to 29 tons.
    • A regular semi-truck weighs 40 tons.
  • Bridge will remain open to traffic.
  • Bridge is safe for travel.

Future Plans:

  • Plans for bridge repairs are included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for 2023.
  • Prior to repairs, additional information regarding timelines will be released.
