UPDATED INFO: Night Time Paving Operation Scheduled for I-70 at I-435 Continues This Week

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will continue a nightly paving operation along I-70 at I-435 this week. Motorists should expect various lane closures overnight in the area. There may be delays in the area. All work is weather permitting.

  • NEW: Northbound and southbound I-435 will be reduced to ONE LANE from 23rd St. to Raytown Rd. for asphalt paving OVERNIGHT beginning on Thursday, Oct. 15, through Saturday, Oct. 17, from 7 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following mornings.
    • Please note that the off ramp from northbound I-435 to 23rd St. and the on ramp from 23rd St. to southbound I-435, as well as the on and off ramps at I-70 may be closed intermittently during this time.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
