Night Time Paving Operation Scheduled for I-70 at I-435 Continues This Week

JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will continue a nightly paving operation along I-70 at I-435 this week. Motorists should expect various lane closures overnight in the area. There may be delays in the area. All work is weather permitting.

  • Eastbound I-70 will be reduced to ONE LANE from Manchester Trafficway to Blue Ridge Cutoff for asphalt paving work OVERNIGHT beginning Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. Please note that the on and off ramps at Manchester Trafficway, I-435, and Blue Ridge Cutoff will be closed intermittently during this work.
  • The right lane of southbound I-435 will be CLOSED from 23rd St. to U.S. 40 Highway for guardrail installation beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, continuously until 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16.
  • The right lane of northbound I-435 will be CLOSED from Sni-A-Bar Rd. to Raytown Rd. for overhead signing installation beginning at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15. Once the right side is completed, the right lane closure will be removed and a left lane closure will be placed.

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
