Business 54 to Close for Roundabout Construction

LAKE OZARK –Traffic will be impacted next week as the construction of a new interchange and several roundabouts continues along U.S. Route 54, Business 54 and Miller County Route W.

The project contractor, working for the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin tying in a new roundabout at the Business 54 intersection with Wilmore Lane and the interchange connector road on Monday, October 12. This work will require Business 54 to be closed to traffic between Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the southern end of Bagnell Dam through Friday, October 16.

Drivers will be able to access Route W, Wilmore Lane, and Lakeside Office Plaza businesses from Route 54. Route 242 can be used to access the southern end of Bagnell Dam Boulevard, and River Road can be used to access Union Electric Road. Signs are in place to alert travelers of these closures.

Construction of the new Route 54 interchange at Miller County Route W and Osage Hills Road continues as well. A single westbound lane is closed to traffic and is expected to remain closed for the next two weeks in order for crews to tie in an interchange ramp and resurface the roadway.

Speed limits are reduced through the work zone for the safety of travelers and workers on the road. Motorists in the area are asked to plan for delays, slow down, avoid distractions and watch for crews in work zones.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
