Work at the Pigeon Creek Bridge to begin next week

St. Joseph, Mo. – A project to resurface a section of Interstate 29 in Buchanan County continues with bridge approach work next week. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp. to resurface I-29 from just south of Route O to the Platte County line. Crews have completed the rumble strip instalation and are expected to finish pavement striping by Friday, Oct. 9.

On Monday, Oct. 12, crews are scheduled to begin work on the southbound concrete approaches to the Pigeon Creek Bridge, located near the 39.6 mile marker. Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane at the bridge with a 12-foot width restriction. Crews will begin working in the driving lane first, followed by the passing lane. Each side is expected to take one week to complete.

All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change.Motorists are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions. Crews will be working close to traffic. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
