I-70 Outer Road to Undergo Pavement Improvements

COLUMBIA – Pavement improvements will be made to the final location of a project improving the driving surface of outer roads along Interstate 70 next week.

A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin paving the I-70 Drive Southeast between Keene Street and the U.S. Route 63/I-70 connector on Thursday, October 8 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. the following morning. This phase of the project comes as the new Keene Street roundabout was recently completed.

This work will require lane closures. Flaggers will guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs and avoid any distractions.

This work is part of a larger pavement improvement project that repaired several Interstate 70 Outer Roads in Boone and Callaway Counties. The pavement work occurring next week will be the final phase of the project.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
