Expect Traffic Delays When Resurfacing Project on Newton Co. Rt. CC Begins Week of Oct. 5

Newton County – Drivers can expect one-lane traffic when a project to resurface and make bridge improvements begins on Newton County Route CC the week of October 5, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will lay a new asphalt surface along an approximately 4.6-mile stretch of Route CC between Missouri Route 86 and U.S. Route 60 west of Neosho.

In addition, new guardrail will be added at the ends of the culvert over Lost Creek.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
  • Drivers will encounter pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

This is last part of a larger project that includes resurfacing Jasper County Routes H, M and MM.

Project Information

  • Prime contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Columbia
  • Total project cost: $2.2 million
  • Completion date: November 1, 2020
