Single-lane closures planned as part of the Interstate 35 resurfacing project

LATHROP, Mo. – The last stage of a resurfacing project on Interstate 35 will require single-lane closures beginning next week. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Ideker, Inc. to resurface I-35 between the Clinton/Clay County line and just north of Route 116.

The contractor will close the driving lane for pier protection operations at Route PP, Route V and Route 116. Each location will take approximately one week to complete. The lane closure will remain in place around the clock. Work will begin Sept. 28, but all other dates listed below are approximate:

Sept. 28 – Oct. 4: Route PP

Oct. 5 – 11: Route V

Oct. 12 – 18: Route 116

One lane of I-35 in each direction is expected to remain open throughout the project with a 12-foot width restriction.

All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change. Motorists are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions. Crews will be working close to traffic. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
