HANNIBAL- The bridge located on Route U (Old U.S. 61), 0.2 miles west of U.S. Route 61 near Bowling Green, is now open after being closed since June 29 for replacement.
The contract for this project also includes two additional bridge replacements located on Route C, over Crooked Branch, 2 miles west of Route E near Frankford, which began last month, as well as the bridge on Route U over Peno Creek, located one mile west of U.S. Route 61 near Bowling Green which was completed in July. The Route C bridge is expected to open later this fall.
The contract was awarded earlier this year to Bleigh Construction Company of Hannibal, Missouri who submitted the low bid of $1,897,582. These bridges are included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
