NOW OPEN: U.S. Route 65 south of Chillicothe

At Grand River Bridge deck replacement project

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. – The Grand River Bridge on U.S. Route 65 south of Chillicothe has reopened after shoulder repairs. The overnight concrete repairs took a bit longer than anticipated in order to let the concrete cure to a strength that could withstand traffic. Crews from Radmacher Brothers Excavating Co., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, were able to reopen the bridge at approximately 3 p.m. today, Saturday, Sept. 19 to one lane with an 11.5-foot width restriction in place.

The project to replace the bridge deck over the Grand River has been active since early March. This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

Contractors plan to have the bridge open to two-way traffic in early December. As with all construction, work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive alive. Drivers are urged to stay alert, pay attention to all roadway signing, and never drive around barricades.
