MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Closings on Missouri Route 86/Long Creek Bridge

During Daytime Hours October 5-8

What: Lane closings and possible delays on Missouri Route 86/Long Creek bridge over Table Rock Lake near Ridgedale

When: 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, October 5-8. Roadway OPEN at night.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Drivers can expect flaggers directing them through the work zone
  • Crews and equipment will be working close to traffic
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule

(Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule)

Details: Crews will be taking rock and soil samples through drilling in preparation for the Long Creek Bridge Replacement Project. Crews will work adjacent to Route 86 Friday-Sunday, September 25-October 4, with no impacts to traffic. 

Construction of the Route 86 replacement bridge, south of the existing structure, will allow traffic to continue to use Route 86. Route 86 will be closed for short periods to connect the new bridge with the existing roadway. Construction of the new bridge could start as early as 2022 and last until 2024.

The Long Creek bridge project’s estimated total cost is $36 million.
