Flood repair project to begin along U.S. Route 24 in Carroll County

CARROLTON, Mo. – The flooding of 2019 damaged roadways and roadsides throughout Northwest Missouri. Repairs will begin soon to areas alongside a portion of U.S. Route 24 south of Carrollton that were damaged by floodwaters. Lehman Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin off-road work on Thursday, Sept. 17. Crews will be working daylight hours Monday through Thursday on ditching, drainage, erosion control and grading along a 4-mile section of U.S. Route 24 between Moss Creek Bridge and the Missouri River Bridge through the end of October. The shoulders in this section will be closed for the duration of the project.

In addition, from Sept. 28 through Oct. 6, one lane of U.S. Route 24 in this same 4-mile section will be closed for shoulder widening and pavement marking. Temporary signals will be in place to guide motorists through the work zone.

The project is scheduled to be complete on or before Nov. 1, 2020.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
