Callaway County Route BB to Undergo Resurfacing

CALLAWAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation is advising travelers in Callaway County to watch for work zones and lane closures on Route BB over the next several weeks.

A contractor working for MoDOT will begin resurfacing Route BB on Wednesday, September 9. Crews will start at the U.S. Route 54 intersection and will work southbound towards the Route AA intersection.

This project will be completed through first filling in the wheel path ruts on the road and then laying a one-inch layer of asphalt across the entire roadway. As crews move along the work area, some sections of road may appear uneven or unpaved. This will be temporary until the asphalt overlay is complete, which will smooth and even-out the driving surface.

This work will require daily lane closures. Signs, flaggers and pilot vehicles will guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists are asked to slow down, avoid distractions and watch for crews in work zones.

The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-October. MoDOT says the patience of motorists is appreciated.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
