Interchange Lighting Improvement Project in Lewis County Set to Begin

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, September 8, work will begin on the intersection lighting improvement project located at the interchange of U.S. Route 61 and Route P in Canton.

“Work on this project will have minimal impact to traffic in the area and is scheduled to be completed by late October,” stated Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer, Amy Crawford.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the contract for this project earlier this summer to Gerstner Electric, Inc. of Fenton, Missouri. This is a cost-share project with the city of Canton contributing $50,000 towards the total project amount of $112,959.
