ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation will limit most work zones this weekend to aid travel during the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Crews will limit any temporary lane closures on interstates and state numbered and lettered routes between noon Friday, September 4 and 5 a.m. Tuesday, September 8.
Work zones with permanent lane closures (such as eastbound and westbound I-44 at Jefferson) will remain in place. Crews may have to close lanes for short times for priority work for issues that might impact the safety of the driving public.
On Wednesday September 9, at 9 a.m., crews will reopen the ramp from Jefferson to westbound Interstate 44 in the city of St. Louis. Immediately after, they will close the ramp from westbound I-44 to Jefferson for 30 days for reconstruction.
For more on roadway closures due to construction, additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions go to http://traveler.modot.org/map. For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. All work is subject to change and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
