JEFFERSON COUNTY- The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a virtual public meeting to address the upcoming project for replacing the aging Joachim Creek bridge.
The virtual public meeting will be held from Thursday, August 27 through Friday, September 11. Viewers that would like to participate will be able to access the webpage until 4 p.m. September 11.
A comment form and the project exhibit are currently available on MoDOT’s webpage here:www.modot.org/route-6167-over-joachim-creek-bridge-project.
The purpose of this project is to replace the aging bridge over Joachim Creek. The current bridge was built in 1933 and is long overdue for an upgrade and replacement. The new bridge will be located to the west of the current bridge. The bridge will be wider to accommodate the exiting Mississippi River Trail and the roadway elevation will be raised to reduce the frequency of roadway closures due to flooding.
For additional information about the public meeting on the Route 61/67 over Joachim Creek Bridge Project, please contact Franklin/Jefferson County Project Manager, Shirley Norris at (314) 314-565-5648 or via email at Shirley.Norris@modot.mo.gov .
