Resurfacing Project Set to Begin on Missouri Route 6 in Adair & Knox County

MACON – Weather permitting, Tuesday, Sept. 8, motorists will begin to see a resurfacing project start on Missouri Route 6 in Adair and Knox County. The project will begin 0.20 mile east of U.S. Route 63 to Missouri Route 15 south junction in Knox County near Edina, for a length of approximately 20 miles. It will include a 1¾ inch overlay of asphalt with 2-foot paved shoulders.

W.L Miller, of Hamilton, Illinois, was awarded the contract in the amount of $4,970,996.



Crews will begin setting signs for the project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone while the work is completed, and a pilot car will be used for traffic control through the work zone.

“We ask that motorists be patient and slow down when traveling through the work zone and follow all work zone signs and personnel,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Amy Crawford. “Please also put down your cell phones to help eliminate distractions. Safety is a number one priority while this project is completed.”
