CLAY COUNTY – Work will soon begin on a multiple phase 69 Highway improvement project, just outside the Ford Claycomo Plant in Clay County, MO. Improvements will include shoulder widening, adding turn lanes and the installation of a new median.
In phase one of the project, crews will close one lane of northbound 69 Highway just north of Garrison Rd. from 6:00am until 2:30pm daily, Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, Aug. 31 and continuing until Tuesday, Sept. 22 for road construction work. During the project, it is anticipated that work/lane closures will occur on Saturdays.
Details of phase two road closures will come at a later date.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
