Double-Decker Bridge Closure Planned

St. Joseph, Mo. – Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close the Interstate 229 Double-Decker Bridge for routine bridge maintenance. For the safety of both motorists and crews, the bridge and all ramps will remain closed between U.S. Route 36 and Highland Avenue through the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 27. These will be around-the-clock closures.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Motorist will need to seek an alternate route during the closure.
