MOUND CITY, Mo. – A section of Holt County Route E is scheduled to close again next week as part of two Interstate 29 bridge deck replacement projects. Contractors from Clarkson Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, are completing a deck replacement project for the I-29 bridges over Route E and Kimsey Creek, located south of Mound City.
For safety during pouring of the new I-29 bridge deck, Route E traffic will not be allowed under the bridge on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. During the closure, motorists must use an alternate route.
These bridges are included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change. Motorists are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions.
