RAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will make the following traffic change as part of a bridge rehabilitation project for the Route J over Crooked River Bridge in Ray County. All work is weather dependent.
Crews will close Route J between Shotwell Rd. and Missouri River Rd. beginning Monday, Aug. 24 and continuing through Tuesday, Dec. 1 for bridge rehab work. Motorists should follow the posted detour, which will be on Route 13 and Route 10.
This is all part of a project to rehab the Route J over Crooked River Bridge. The work will consist of removing and replacing the existing bridge deck and improving approaches.
This bridge project is included in Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
