Buchanan County Routes E and H to be resurfaced

GOWER, Mo. – A new smoother driving surface is coming soon for Routes E and H in Buchanan County. Crews from Herzog Contracting Corp., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, are scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, on resurfacing Route E from U.S. Route 169 to Route 116. The work on Route E is expected to continue through August. They will then move to Route H between Route 371 and U.S. Route 169 at Gower. Work is expected to be complete on both routes by mid-September.

During the paving operation, the roadway will be reduced to one lane with flaggers and a pilot car directing motorist through the work zone. Drivers will experience delays, both directions, as they must wait for a pilot car. Drivers entering from a side road onto the route being resurfaced must also wait for a pilot car.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorist are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones as crews are working in close proximity to the traveling public.
